They are seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join their growing team in Leeds in a potentially hybrid, part-time role. Your main responsibilities will be managing geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations, largely in the north of England. The role also involves managing site works including larger sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Manage geotechnical and geo‑environmental ground investigations across the north of England and wider UK.

Oversee site works, including larger‑value projects, with responsibility for site supervision, logging to BS5930, groundwater and gas monitoring.

Deliver projects through the full lifecycle: proposal, contract, implementation, and close‑out.

Maintain responsibility for technical deliverables, financial performance, and client relationship management.

Split time roughly 50:50 between office and site, generally within 1–2 hours of Leeds, with occasional overnight stays for more distant projects.

Write clear, concise, factual reports and maintain strong communication with clients and colleagues.

Apply robust health, safety and environmental management practices throughout all works.

Work collaboratively within the national geo‑environmental team, contributing to a positive and inclusive culture.
Requirements

Degree in geology or a related subject.

Background in ground investigations, including soil and rock logging, site supervision and environmental monitoring.

Proven ability to run site works of varying scale across diverse environments.

Demonstrable project management skills covering scheduling, deliverables, finances and client interaction.

Good written and verbal communication skills, plus strong IT literacy.

Understanding of health, safety and environmental practices in ground investigation.

Full (preferably clean) driving licence.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
-
Membership of a relevant professional body and progress toward Chartership.

CSCS card appropriate to the role.

SMSTS, CAT & Genny and First Aid training.

Background using Openground software.

Ability to prepare health & safety documentation.

Background booking and managing subcontractors.

Security cleared
