Overview
Our client is a successful and expanding engineering consultancy specialising in Civil, Structural and Geoenvironmental Engineering. Their talented team of specialists deliver projects across the commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure sectors, from initial site appraisal and feasibility through to construction and project completion.
They are currently seeking a Geoenvironmental Engineer (2 - 10 years relevant background) based in the South or South-West of England, ideally the Swindon/Bristol area, to join their Yorkshire-based team.
Working from home, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of site investigation projects and the supervision of remedial works and earthworks primarily in the south of England. They will also provide technical support to their Structural Engineering and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

Preparing desk study reports, factual and interpretative ground investigation reports, remedial strategy reports, coal mining risk assessments, and other ground related reports.

Dealing confidently with subcontractors.

Designing, organising, and personally executing the ground investigation works. Including logging and sampling of soil and rock.

Working away from home for extended periods of time.

Management of budgets for ground investigation works.

Hazardous ground gas/groundwater monitoring and sampling.
Requirements

A relevant science or engineering degree, e.g. geology.

Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or similar subject is desirable.

Between 2 - 10 years relevant post-graduate track record, either with an engineering consultancy or ground investigation contractor.

Working towards chartered status with Geological Society or similar.

In depth knowledge of the construction industry and a passion for the built environment.

Ability to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Highly motivated and committed team player.

Reliable with an ability to work independently.

Can do attitude.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to work away from home for extended periods.

Clean UK driving licence.

Right to work in the UK without restriction.

Salary £30,000 – £ 60,000

Min 25 days leave + Bank holidays, which increases with length of service.
