Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer: Exciting opportunity to take a lead role at this Large and expanding Environmental Consultancy. The role is based in Warrington.

Our client is part of large company renowned for providing a range of services, from ground investigation to geo-environmental engineering solutions in the construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
 
The are looking for Principal Geoenvironmental Engineer for their innovative and growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and knowledgeable engineer to take a lead role in influencing project strategy, client engagement and the development of exemplary deliverables across a diverse range of projects.
 
You’ll have a solid grounding in engineering geology and contaminated land assessment and combine strong technical expertise with a practical, commercial mindset and the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground Investigations, including soil and rock logging, sampling and in-situ testing.
  • Interpret and report on geoenvironmental data, undertaking human health and groundwater risk assessments using industry-standard tools such as LCRM, ConSim, RBCA, SNIFFER, BP RISC and the EA Remedial Targets methodology.
  • Provide clear, commercially focused advice on contaminated land and planning matters, tailored to client and project needs.
  • Develop outline designs and specifications for contaminated land remedial works and manage detailed design of contaminated land earthworks and remediation schemes.
  • Oversee and direct investigation and remediation of mine workings, producing associated completion reports.
  • Manage projects effectively, from tender and proposal preparation through to delivery and client liaison.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and professional development.
 
Requirements
  • BSc or BEng in a relevant Geological or Environmental discipline (MSc desirable).
  • Proven track record in project management, client development and technical delivery.
  • Extensive background in preparing contaminated land assessment reports in line with current guidance.
  • Strong understanding of contaminated land legislation and the UK planning regime.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Desirable: background in geotechnical design (earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stability).
  • Full UK driving licence (UK travel required)
 
On offer
  • Salary £42,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
