Overview
Our client specialises in the provision of in the investigation, assessment and reclamation of development land. They predominantly work housing contractors and on commercial projects and pride themselves on an exceptionally low staff turnover.
They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team. You’ll play a key role in delivering ground investigation, risk assessment, and remediation strategies for a diverse range of development sites across the UK.
In this role, you’ll have exposure to both consultancy and contracting projects and the opportunity to shape site-specific solutions and see them through to implementation. Key Responsibilities

Design and manage Phase I and Phase II site investigations

Conduct fieldwork including soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, and gas surveys

Interpret laboratory data and produce technical reports

Develop conceptual site models and quantitative risk assessments

Support remediation design and implementation

Liaise with clients, regulators, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery

Contribute to health & safety planning and compliance on site
Requirements
-
Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field

2+ years’ background in geo-environmental consultancy or contracting
-
Phase 1 & 2 Report writing

Strong understanding of UK contaminated land regulations and guidance (e.g. CLR11, BS10175)

Proficiency in logging soils to BS5930 and using GIS or CAD tools
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
