Responsibilities

Supervision and mentoring of Structures Engineering team

Preparation of design deliverables:
-
Drawings in AutoCAD
-
Hand drawn sketches – As appropriate to design stage

Specification Documents
-
3rd Party Agreement Information – Requirements of the Statutory Authority
-
Production of calculations for both hand and computer aided design software relating to both foundations and superstructure.

Providing technical oversight and support to engineering team delivering structural outputs such as foundation design solutions, RC details and superstructure calculations.

Site visits – inspection/defect reports.

General understanding and appreciation of earthwork and ground stabilisation specifications and methodologies

Track record of managing projects to timescale and budget

Client liaisons and meeting as appropriate

Leading on, with support from Directors, on the structures Business Development / Growth strategy to target, secure and/or develop client and project opportunities.

Leading on, with support from Directors, on the growth and recruitment strategy to for the team to support the growing project requirements
-
Working with the Directors to produce fee proposals.

Timesheets and Various in-house quality control procedures.
-
In addition to your normal duties, you may occasionally be required to undertake additional work necessary to meet the needs of the business, without additional remuneration.
Requirements

MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc Hons Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering

Professional Membership with ICE or IStructE or similar (desirable)

10+ years post graduate backround, preferably in design consultancy for residential/commercial/industrial projects.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Track record of team leading and/or client facing roles
-
Great team-working and personable approach to clients
-
Able to effectively manage and prioritise workload.

Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive individual, with an ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.

Skills in report writing, stakeholder engagement, and an ability to communicate across all levels, both written and verbally is essential.

Candidates must be willing to spend time on site and occasional stays away from home.

Full UK driving licence preferred
