Associate / Principal Geo-environmental Consultant. Fantastic opportunity at this expanding Medium-sized Geo-Environmental Consultant. This role is based in Manchester.

Our client is an industry leader with an enviable reputation as the Geo-environmental and Engineering consultancy of choice. They provide innovative and pragmatic solutions with an in-house approach as both consultants and contractors.
 
Due to continued growth and client demand, they have the opportunity for a self-motivated individual for the position of Associate or Principal Geo-environmental Consultant working as part of their Ground Investigation team. The role will include tendering, designing and project management of complex ground investigations along with managing of the finances for each project, and this will involve producing and final sign-off on detailed reports and remediation strategies. 
 
You will have direct contact with clients and regulators and an involvement in varied and challenging projects within this growing division. The role will include some business development and networking to help develop new opportunities and maintain existing clients. You will also play your part in the wider team, supporting our client-side project management consultancy and land remediation contracting sections.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management of jobs including complex site investigations and validation sites. Includes the production of quotes and tenders, site investigation design and budgeting.
  • Technical report writing to a high specification, including soil, gas and groundwater risk assessments, remediation strategies and other detailed risk assessments.
  • Reviewing and signing off Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigations, Remediation Strategies, Site Completion Report and other detailed risk assessment reports.
  • Client and regulatory liaison.
  • Business development, including building of own client list and retention of existing clients, attending networking events.
  • Training and mentoring of junior staff.
 
Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant field such as geology, geography, environmental science, geophysics, or geochemistry. An additional higher degree may also be an advantage.
  • 10 years’ consultancy background. 
  • Commercial awareness of industry.
  • High motivation for this specific opportunity.
  • Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager’s requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
